Cognizant Secures $1 Billion Deal from US-Based Healthcare Company
Cognizant Technology Solutions has said it has won a significant contract worth about $1 billion from an American healthcare client. Though the name of the client has not been confirmed, market insiders indicate the deal is an extension and ramp-up of Cognizant’s longstanding agreement with UnitedHealth Group (UHG).
The deal lasts for an average period of five years and encompasses renewal, expansion, and new projects. One of the major features of the deal is the inclusion of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to drive productivity and operational efficiency for the client. This is in keeping with Cognizant’s strategy to deliver greater value through cutting-edge technology solutions in the healthcare sector.
The health sciences business remains one of the mainstay pillars of Cognizant, accounting for close to one-third of the company’s overall revenue, which stood at $19.74 billion in 2024. The new agreement is likely to bring in an estimated $200 million in revenue every year, highlighting Cognizant’s dominant position in the healthcare technology arena.
Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S. has underscored the company’s focus on assisting healthcare clients to drive modernization and better outcomes in operations through digital transformation. The acquisition solidifies Cognizant’s position as a go-to technology partner in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
With increasing demand for technology-enabled healthcare solutions, this contract win further demonstrates Cognizant’s strategic vision as well as extensive expertise in providing scalable and innovative services. The collaboration is likely to have a significant contribution to the company’s growth path and market positioning over the next several years.
