Wipro Ventures raises ₹1,740 crore in funding
Wipro Limited has placed a $200 million (around ₹1,740 crore) bet on its venture capital wing, Wipro Ventures. The move is Wipro Ventures’ fourth round of funding since 2015 when the unit was launched with a target to catalyze early- to mid-stage companies emphasizing technology innovation.
Wipro Ventures has 37 businesses across domains like artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure in its portfolio. These investments have helped in delivering new solutions to more than 250 Wipro clients globally, resulting in 12 successful exits till date.
Apart from outright equity investments, Wipro Ventures also invests about 20% of its capital in early-stage, enterprise-oriented, and cybersecurity-themed venture funds in India, the US, and Israel.
This strategic investment reflects Wipro’s focus on creating a co-creation platform that fosters technology innovations and delivers long-term value to clients and partners.
