Born in South Africa in 1971, Musk moved to the U.S. and founded his first company, Zip2, a software startup, which he sold for nearly $300 million. He then co-founded X.com, which later became PayPal, revolutionizing online payments. After selling PayPal to eBay for $1.5 billion, Musk turned his focus to more ambitious ventures.
