Tata Power will invests ₹1.2 trillion in Rajasthan for renewable energy
Tata Power has announced a massive investment of ₹1.2 billion in Rajasthan as part of its 10-year plan to transform the state’s power grid and enhance its green energy potential. Investments are focused on several key areas: renewable energy, distributed energy, logistics, and the development of green technologies.
Of the total investment, ₹75,000 crore will be spent on renewable energy projects, including development of 10 GW capacity, including 6 GW solar and 4 GW for hybrid solutions of the grid, ₹30,000 crore will be allocated for upgrading and distribution systems to modernize the grid and reduce energy losses. Tata Power will also set up 100,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across Rajasthan, while rooftop solar systems will be installed on 1 lakh homes under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
This initiative is expected to create more than 28,000 direct jobs and contribute significantly towards India’s renewable energy and ambitious sustainable energy targets, such as achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030.
