The three wholly-owned subsidiary companies of Tata Consumer Products Ltd. which are Tata Consumer Soulfull Pvt Ltd., NourishCo Beverages Ltd., and Tata SmartFoodz Ltd are integrated with the parent company. This merger got the approvals from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and other authorities to merge as a part of TCPL’s plan to operate organization structure efficiently.
It is in line with the established objective of TCPL to transform the company into a way that would enable it to become more flexible and lean. This is effected through simplifying the legal entity structure so that the company can realise administrative as well as financial benefits that would automatically complement its efficiency. However, at this consolidation, the individual business units operating structure will remain as is; they will work on its current product niche of millet products, RTD products, and RTCK/RTM products respectively.
The anticipated fallout of this strategic move, therefore, has the potential to consolidate TCPL positioning in the huge folio of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), and at the same time enable effective utilisation of existing resources to foster growth, principally in strategic sensitive areas. The merger is considered to enhance the organisational capability of TCPL to cater the strategic growth of future readiness in the competitive market environment.
